Assessment

DUE DATE: Friday 18th of October

For this assessment you are to create a Scratch game.
The game can be any kind of game you want (e.g. racing, space shooter, quiz, etc).

Assessment Requirements

For ACHIEVED, your game should include:
  1. A backstory. Create some narrative for the game. Perhaps your character is needing to rescue someone, or collect all of the lost keys, or eliminate all of the aliens. Be creative.
  2. At least one sprite that can move across the screen. For example, using the arrow keys.

  3. Use of a variable (for example, increase score variable by 1 when touches the coin, or lives minus one when touch enemy)
              OR
Make the game end and so the player knows              the game is over. (e.g. Game over background            appears when lives = 0)

For MERIT, your game should include the same as Achieved, as well as:
  1.  Animations (eg changing sprite costumes).
  2.  Making your sprite interact with some other object eg pick up an item, or die if it touches an enemy.
  3.  Your program asks the user(s) for their name and associates the score with their name.
  4. Use at least 3 variables to store information.

For EXCELLENCE, your game should include the same as Merit, as well as:
  1. Your game must increase in difficulty as the game goes on. You might do this by having harder levels, or just after a certain time or number of points things become harder.
  2. You must have some kind of boss at the end.
  3. Use at least 5 variables to store information.
  4. You must have at least 4 different backgrounds/levels.

Bonus challenge: Make your game multiplayer (could be cooperative or competitive). Other players should be able to enter a username and have their own score associated with them.
